Camping is how it should be at Penpont, a relaxed and quiet space. The Old Rose Garden has an informal layout, no lines of designated pitches but a variety of small private spaces amongst the mature trees and shrubs with a central open communal space. There are also some riverside pitches and if you're lucky you'll see the otters, the kingfishers, the dippers and other wildlife. There is plenty of space and we let campers choose their own pitches within the site. There are a couple of permanent communal fire places and we have several metal raised fire pits which can be used by our campers and placed anywhere. You'll find a couple of deep swimming pools in the river but do bring some old trainers to paddle and swim in.
